Photos taken during a training or further training course at Fahrschule Star GmbH may be used, published and passed on for the company’s own advertising purposes. Fahrschule Star GmbH is authorised to store and use personal data and to pass it on to third parties who have been commissioned to process the data and who are bound to strict confidentiality, as well as to use the data to develop new products and services.

Basics

The contract comes into force upon registration (verbally, by telephone, WhatsApp, SMS or online) and ends automatically after passing the practical driving test. The STAR driving school undertakes to provide learner drivers with flawless and proper training that meets the requirements of the Swiss Road Traffic Act for the admission of persons to road traffic under the following conditions.

Goal

The aim is to obtain a category B (car) driving licence in accordance with the Swiss examination requirements for the theoretical and practical driving test of the Association of Road Traffic Offices (ASA).

Guarantee

The driving instructor providing the training is in possession of a driving instructor’s licence to give commercial driving lessons and will carry out the training in accordance with the latest methodological and didactic knowledge. The conclusion of the training contract does not constitute a guarantee for obtaining a driving licence, especially if the learner driver wishes to take the practical test too early.

Practical driving test

It is up to the driving instructor to register the student for the test. He decides whether someone is ready for the test or not. Star Driving School reserves the right to postpone or even cancel the test without prior consultation if there are any doubts. At least two driving lessons are required for the practical driving test (at least three driving lessons are required for the practical driving test in the canton of Zurich). The first lesson is used for preparation, “familiarisation” and “warming up” for the test drive. The second lesson is the practical test.

Vehicle

Lessons for practical driving instruction are given in a specially equipped driving school vehicle. In individual cases, a conventional vehicle may be used (service, breakdown, etc.). The rate per lesson does not change as a result.

Lesson duration

A driving lesson, also known as a driving lesson for category B, lasts 45 minutes and a double lesson lasts 90 minutes and consists of: Welcome, orientation, instructions, practical driving, final discussion and new appointment.

Cancellation

Cancellations: Agreed driving lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise they will be charged. Cancellations by WhatsApp or SMS are only accepted once we have confirmed them. This is because learner drivers have repeatedly sent messages to the wrong number or address. Late arrivals or late cancellations of agreed appointments will be charged to the learner driver. Regardless of the reason for the cancellation.

Delay

The driving instructor will wait at the agreed meeting point for a maximum of 15 minutes. If the learner driver does not appear at the agreed meeting point by this time or if no agreement can be reached by telephone, the driving instructor may leave the agreed meeting point and the driving lessons will be charged as completed

Driving licence and requirements

The valid learner’s licence must be carried to every driving lesson and presented before the lesson. Without a valid learner’s permit, the lesson will be cancelled at the student’s expense. It is also mandatory to wear tight-fitting shoes and glasses/contact lenses if the 01 requirement is noted on the learner’s licence.

Fines

Fines that are clearly caused by the fault of the learner driver shall be borne in full by the learner driver.

The prices can be viewed at any time on our website. We reserve the right to change them at any time without prior notice.

Payment Terms

Driving lessons and subscriptions must be paid in cash or by bank transfer at the start of each lesson.

Subscription

Subscriptions are discounts and are only refunded for cash payments made in advance. Driving lessons that have not been paid for in advance are considered individual lessons. Unused driving lessons from a subscription after passing the driving test will be refunded to the learner driver. The unused lessons will be recalculated to the next smaller subscription. Any resulting balance will be paid out. The validity of a subscription ends after 2 years.

Outstanding Invoices

If driving lessons are not fully paid for or if an invoice is not fully paid by the due date, the learner driver will automatically be in default. An invoice must always be paid before taking any further driving lessons. The learner driver bears all costs incurred by STAR Driving School due to the payment delay. No new lessons will be scheduled until full payment is made. A reminder incurs an additional fee of CHF 10.00, and a payment demand incurs an additional fee of CHF 50.00. For debt collection proceedings, a processing fee of CHF 150.00 will be charged in addition to the outstanding amount. If multiple driving lessons remain unpaid by the end of the training, they must be paid no later than the exam day itself. Otherwise, STAR Driving School reserves the right to refuse exam accompaniment. The resulting costs will be borne by the learner driver.

Vouchers

Vouchers can only be redeemed after successful payment. A refund is only possible as long as the voucher has not been redeemed. A cash payout or refund for unused driving lessons is excluded. If the practical driving test is successfully passed with STAR Driving School, any unused lessons from the voucher will be refunded.

Star Guarantee

To claim the money-back guarantee, the following conditions must be met: Unsatisfactory services must be immediately reported to the management of Star Driving School. Our money-back guarantee only applies to individual lessons. A claim or refund for multiple lessons retroactively is excluded.
Exam Guarantee: If you are ready for the exam and have taken the practical exam with the consent of your driving instructor but did not pass because you were given topics during the exam that were not discussed and documented in the training, we will cover the costs of your exam.

Administration and Insurance Fee & Exclusion from Insurance Coverage

The administration fee is mandatory from the first driving lesson and must be paid in cash at the start of the training (also in the case of switching driving schools). If a trial lesson is agreed upon, the administration fee is not applicable for the trial lesson. The fee includes services provided outside of the actual driving lessons, such as training consultation, exam registration, administration with authorities, and costs for phone calls, postage, and IT. Additionally, during the training lessons, the increased risk for liability, comprehensive vehicle, and passenger insurance without a deductible is covered by the insurance fee. The administration fee is a one-time payment of CHF 100 and is valid only for the duration of the car driving training with STAR Driving School. Insurance is only valid for lessons where STAR Driving School instructors are present. The insurance reserves the right to exclude coverage in the following cases: driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication misuse, fatigue, and motorcycle courses.

Basic Motorcycle Course (MGK)

Star Driving School does not rent motorcycles. Driving lessons and courses must be completed with your own motorcycle. Your motorcycle must be in a technically flawless condition (tire tread depth must be at least 1.6mm). The motorcycle should be fully fueled. Motorcycle clothing should be worn, including: motorcycle pants (preferably with protectors), motorcycle jacket (preferably with protectors), shoes (sturdy, ankle-protecting footwear), motorcycle gloves, and a helmet. In bad weather, it is recommended to bring a rain suit. Star Driving School assumes no liability for damages or accidents during training. Courses generally take place in all weather conditions. In case of severe weather (fog, snowfall, frost), the course will be canceled by the instructor. The basic course lasts 4 x 60 minutes (including breaks).

First Aid Course and Traffic Knowledge (VKU)

Star Driving School collaborates with various organizations. The general terms and conditions for first aid courses and traffic knowledge lessons can be found on the websites of the respective organizations via links provided on our homepage. The general terms and conditions of the respective driving schools are binding. Therefore, Star Driving School excludes any responsibility, liability, or right of recourse for first aid courses and traffic knowledge lessons. In case of discrepancies, these must be resolved with the organization conducting the course.

Contractual Relationship

The contractual relationship between the learner driver and the driving instructor can be terminated by either party at any time.

Payment Method: Purchase on Invoice

In case of a cancellation of a product purchased via the “Purchase on Invoice” payment method, the invoice costs remain the responsibility of the customer.
Terms and Conditions for “Purchase on Invoice”
The following costs are borne by the customer:
Invoice fee: CHF 2.90 per invoice
Reminder fees in case of non-payment within 30 days:Payment reminder: free of charge
Second and third reminders: CHF 25 each
Dossier transfer fee in case of debt collection: CHF 20
Late payment interest: 10% per year, from the invoice due date until the full payment of the outstanding amount.

Data protection

STAR Driving School is committed to using the personal data of course participants exclusively for its own data processing purposes and to forwarding this data only to authorized third parties who are also bound by strict confidentiality (e.g., Road Traffic Office, accounting/trust services). Photo and video material taken during driving lessons may be used for our website or other internal promotional purposes.
